Let’s start here

Plan your session

Every session starts with the same focus: capturing your life in a way that feels true to you.

Step 01: Location

Where would you like your session to take place? It might be at home, outside in beautiful light, or moving through a space your kids love like the park or your backyard garden. Wherever you feel most like yourselves is where the best moments unfold.

In-Home Sessions

Your home is part of your story. The toys on the floor, the fingerprints on the fridge, all of it. It does not need to be perfectly clean or styled. In fact, homes tend to photograph best when they feel lived in. I will look for good light, simple corners, and moments that feel familiar and comfortable, creating images that reflect the your real, beautiful life.

Scenic Sessions

There are a few quiet Hill Country spots I return to again and again. They are beautiful in every season, photograph effortlessly, and give families space to relax, explore, and be themselves. Whether it is tall grass, seasonal blooms, or soft evening light, these are places that consistently feel good and photograph beautifully.

Activity Sessions

Some of the best photos happen when you are simply doing your thing. Baking cookies, splashing in a creek, hiking a favorite trail, watering the garden, playing in the backyard, or chasing the waves at the coast. Whatever you and your people naturally love doing, we can photograph it. The more it feels like you, the better. These sessions tend to be relaxed and fun because you are focused on being together, not on the camera.

Step 02: What to wear

Clothes don’t need to be fancy — they just need to feel like you. Think comfort, movement, and pieces you can actually breathe in while wrangling your little ones and/or frolicking out in the field. I usually recommend against anything neon or pure black - those colors don't usually photograph as well. If you book with me, we can chat styling if you want - I'm always happy to help!

Frequently asked questions

What if my kids do not sit still or follow directions?

That's expected! Sessions are designed to allow for movement, curiosity, and your personalities to shine. Some of the most meaningful moments happen when kids are simply being themselves, and when parents don't stress about it.

Do you travel for photoshoots outside of Texas?

Absolutely - "Wandering" is in the name, after all :) I've photographed proposals in Sweden and elopements in Australia, weddings in Colorado and portrait sessions in Malibu. Share your vision and we can help you execute. If you want to see some examples of these types of adventure sessions, check out my portfolio.

Do you pose us at all? My husband/kid is awkward in front of the camera.

Also expected - lots of people are uncomfortable in front of the camera. I always try my best to put you at ease, and give general tips at the start of every session. I offer guidance and gentle direction to help you feel comfortable and confident throughout, but I am not interested in stiff posing or forced interactions. Your main focus should be on what matters most - enjoying your time together. I'll take care of you, work your best angles, and worry about the rest.

What's your process / how do I book a session with you?

I've been doing this for a decade, and I like to make things as easy as possible for you.

For portrait sessions: fill out my contact form and once we've planned your session and decide on a date, it goes on the calendar. Payment is due on the shoot day, and I deliver final images within 3 weeks of your shoot date.

I don't do messy contracts for portrait sessions, but my firm policy is that if you cancel or no-show for you session, you never get re-booked, and if you're late on payment, you won't get your images until you settle up.

For birth / weddings, I require a non-refundable deposit and contract to hold your due date/wedding day.
